Blue beauty and the sewer

Note the outlet running into the street sewer across the bottom of the frame.
Orchha has many beautifully painted buildings like this and we were lucky to be in town during the Diwali festival when people had gone to extra trouble - sprucing up thier homes prior to the celebrations. People believe that Goddess Lakshmi loves cleanliness and visits the cleanest house.
These are the real colours.

Lets think about "poverty" " homeless families"............... what is the future of these kids ?

I saw people living on roads , inside old cars and sometimes just under worn cardboard pieces...

According to the United Nations, “absolute homelessness” describes the condition
of people without physical shelter who sleep outdoors, in vehicles, abandoned
buildings or other places not intended for human habitation. [ref quot:CMAJ : Canadian medical association journal ]

“Relative homelessness”
describes the condition of those who have a physical shelter, but one that
does not meet basic standards of health and safety; these include protection from
the elements, access to safe water and sanitation, security of tenure, personal safety
and affordability.1 In this review, “homeless people” refers to people who are sleeping
in shelters for the homeless and those who are “absolutely homeless [ref quote :CMAJ]

- " More than 20 million kids in the United States live with one parent
Separation and divorce are the most common reasons for this. In other cases,
the mom and dad may never have lived together, or one of them may have died."

Health problems among homeless "people":

- Chronic ( continuing and recurrent ) chest or breathing problems including Asthma and COPD = chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

- Frequent headaches
- Wounds, skin ulcers and other skin problems
- Musculoskeletal ( muscles and bone) problems including arthritis
- Difficulty in seeing
- Ear infections
- Stomach problems
- Speech problems
- Seizures ( epileptic seizure )
- Foot problems.
- Other problems

Mental problems as ..
- depressive disorders
- depression
- anxiety
- suicide
are eleven times as high among people sleeping rough compared to the general population.
